  Birth, Death & Occupation: THE LATE MR. EDWARD ALCOCK. in the Advertiser (Adelaide Newspaper) 7 October 1904. Mr. Alcock was born on March 29, 1824, at Headless Cross, near, Redditch, Worcestershire, England. He was a needle-grinder by trade, and in May 1852 he left for South Australia, and on his arrival here he identified himself with the Wesleyan Church, and on many occasions acted as local preacher. Ship Records: Edward Alcock age 27 Brickmaker/labourer from Worcester with wife Sarah nee Millington age 28 with daughter Maria aged 8. Came to Adelaide on the Epaminondas ariving Port Adelaide (known as The Port) 2 August 1852. Sarah died 14 June 1853 in Adelaide.
