DEATH OF MR. A.D. GUIDI
WELL KNOWN IN BROKEN HILL MUSICAL CIRCLES
NO DETAILS OF ACCIDENT
A private message was received in Broken Hill this afternoon from Archdeacon White announcing the death of Mr. Albert D. Guidi, well known in local musical circles.
The death occurred at 7.30 o'clock last night in the Clarendon Hospital but no details of the accident had been received up to the time this edition went to press.
Mr. Guidi was 25 years of age. He was employed at Mr. L. Hunter's Music Store in Argent Street and left on Holiday on January 17th. He Journeyed to Adelaide by motor cycle, and arrived at his destination on the following day.
A sad aspect is given to the case by the fact that Mr. Guidi's Father left by last night's express for Adelaide in order to spend a few days with his son prior to the latter's return to Broken Hill.
Mr. J.S. Guidi, an Uncle, was journeying from Adelaide on the express and the first intimation that both men got of the accident was at Terrowie when Mr. J.S. Guidi was told that there had been a death in the family and that he was to return to Adelaide.
Nothing definite could be obtained in Broken Hill during the morning apart from the fact that Mr. Guidi had been killed.
No particulars could be got as to how the accident happened.
The late Mr. Guidi was well known in local Musical Circles, he being the conductor of the Broken Hill Orchestra. Prior to taking over the position he held conductorship of the Barrier Boy's Brigade Orchestra.
Some little time ago he also took an interest in training of the local cadets and at one time took a commission as Lieutenant.
