Steam Engine - Wirrabara, Australia
This Steam Engine was used for cutting wood.
Albert Henry Sloan and his brother, Gordon
Stanley Sloan,(Gordon was 12 years old at the
time), drove this with a team of horses on very
dangerous trips to Port Pirie. Albert drove the
team and Gordon was the brakeman. It was found
later and restored to serve as a monument in
Wirrabara, South Australia honoring the pioneers.
The monument plaque reads: A tribute to the
fortitude and courage of the pioneer settlers of
the district. 1974.
